As the famous Italian guitarist, composer and musical scholar Angelo Gilardino has commented, The three compositions presented in this CD represent the apex of Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco's work in chamber music featuring the guitar, either solo or in concert with other instruments, and are among the most important of all his instrumental works.
