ナイル・ロジャース (g) とバーナード・エドワーズ (b) を中心に 70年代後半〜80年代のファンク〜ディスコシーンをけん引した シック。1980年の４thアルバム『Real People』と 82年の『Tongue in Chic』のカップリング盤、83年 Atlantic 時代のラストアルバム『Believer』の２タイトルが Wounded Bird レーベルから再プレス。

リズムマシーンやキーボードを多用し、ニューウェイヴ時代に呼応した 83年発表の７thアルバム『Believer』。当時セールス的には惨敗だったものの、アッパーなエレクトロファンク「You Are Beautiful」、R＆Bチャート57位に食い込んだ「Give Me The Lovin'」など、後年再評価を得た人気曲を収録。バンドは本作をもって活動を停止 (1992年に復活)。ナイル・ロジャースは同年、デヴィッド・ボウイの『Let's Dance』を皮切りに、ロック／ポップス方面のプロデュース業でさらに名を上げていくこととなる。
