Deluxe two CDA vinyl edition featuring the original album and 6 bonus tracks and there will also be a digital bonus edition featuring the original album, the 18 tracks from the CD, and a further 8 exclusive songs. The exclusive content will be made up of demos, alternate versions and alternate mixes and a series of brand new songs. SLANG reached the Top five in the UK Official Chart and the Top 15 in the US Billboard Chart. The album contained the hit single of the same name.

当時完全にグランジ勢にとって代わられていた音楽シーンにおける悪影響をデフ・レパードさえも受けてしまったのか？という難産作。 同時代のBON JOVIもセールス不振に陥ってましたので無理もありませんが。 基本的にヘヴィでアンチ・ポップな楽曲が多いので、コアなファン以外が手を出すようなアルバムではありません。 次作『ユーフォリア』で慌てて従来のスタイルに戻した点からも、本作が悩みの時期の作品であった事が明白です。

デフ・レパード史上にあって、間違い無く”最高”の部類！数あるアルバム中に、一番最初に聴くようなアルバムでは無いけれど、絶対に踏み入れるべき領域なアルバム。パイロマニア、ヒステリアでスタジオ・プロダクツばかり目立った装飾が、適度に省かれ、”生”のサウンドが目に見えてくる。フィルとヴィヴィアンも巧く融合して激しくない激しさ!?で好印象。叫ばないジョーのスタイルもイイ！
