Product Description

Impact Is Imminent was the 1990 release from Bay Area thrash legends Exodus. Musically solid, displaying many of the characteristics as we know it from the early Exodus. Attack-frantic riffing from Rick Hunolt and Gary Holt, together a legendary thrash guitar duo, the manic drum work from John Tempesta, the master of the double kick backed by Rob McKillop on bass and headed by the raspy vocals of Steve 'Zetro' Souza. Guitarist Gary Holt is the musical genius and deserves greater recognition as he came up with some of the heaviest and most unique riffs in the thrash metal. This album has got to go down in history as one of the thrash metal albums as it was way ahead of its time.

国内盤紙ジャケット仕様2016年リマスター盤についてのレビューです。素人耳での比較ですが、低音がやや強調されているように感じます。しかし、オリジナル盤ではギターサウンドが耳をつんざく様な凄まじい音だったのに対し、今回のリマスター盤では、その凄まじさが少し薄れてしまっています。良く言えば聴きやすい音になっている、悪く言えば迫力に欠ける音になっているといった感じです。同時発売のForce Of Habitのリマスターは個人的に結構良かっただけに、このアルバムのリマスターは正直期待外れですかね

ギター２人(H-TEAM)によるセルフプロデュースだけあってやたらギター音だけ目立つアルバム。まぁリフ命だから別に問題なし。ジャキジャキ切れ味抜群カッコイイし。

待ちに待ったリマスター再発。オリジナル発売当時、初めて聴いた時は、１曲目からその凄まじい爆音に驚き、思わずCDの再生を止めてしまったのを覚えている。ゲイリー・ホルトが「ギター以外の事は、全く無視したアルバムだ」と語った極限のリフを堪能すべし。
