真っ黒な森の奥にそびえ立つ不気味なやしきを舞台に、ちょっぴり臆病なルイージが、勇気をふりしぼってオバケに立ち向かう、痛快ドタバタホラーアクションです。

本作では、新たに2人プレイにも対応。ソフトが2本（3DS本体・2台）あれば、ストーリーを追う「ふたりでやしき」や、ボスとの再戦ができる「ボスリトライ」が遊べます。ソフト1本（3DS本体・2台）でもダウンロードプレイで「ボスリトライ」が楽しめます。
