現在はヨーロッパで「女性ヴォーカルのヘヴィ・メタル・バンド」として人気バンドに成長している The Gathering の 2nd.アルバム。1st.アルバムは男性デス・ヴォイス（咆哮）・シンガー、バルト・スミッツが歌っていたが、アルバム1枚で脱退。代わってこのアルバム「Almost A Dance」では爬虫類声の男性シンガー、ニールス・ドゥフューズと、線の細い女性シンガー、マルティナ・ヴァン・ローンの2人がヴォーカルを取っている。ニールスのダミ声のせいでいまいち人気がないが、実は結構メロディックで、M1. On a Wave などはなかなかいい曲だったりす
