Digitally remixed 50th Anniversary edition of the Beatles musical masterpiece. This Abbey Road release features the new stereo album mix, sourced directly from the original eight-track session tapes. To produce the mix, Giles Martin working with Sam Okell, was guided by the album's original stereo mix supervised by his father, George Martin. It is time to experience Abbey Road again!

今までは、カム・トゥゲザー の冒頭はジョンが「シュー」と言っていると思っていた。今回は音がクリアになっているので、完全に”Shoot me!”「俺を撃て！」と言っていたことがハッキリとわかった。ジョンの人生を考えると、自分で言ったとおりになってしまったことに悲しみを覚える。もしかしたら、ミキサーが考慮して”Shoot me!”と聞こえないように加工してたのかもしれないね

Disc 1の2019 ステレオ・ミックスは「Sgt. Pepper...」ほどの衝撃はないが、それでも1987年のCDよりは音が綺麗に聴こえる。Disc 2、3は「アンソロジー・シリーズ」の残り物という感じで、ロング・ワン以外は特に印象的な曲は無く、しかも40分程度ずつとかなり物足りない内容。ハードカバーのブックレットは装丁、内容ともに価格に見合う豪華さでした。

このリマスターも気に入っています。前回のホワイトアルバム50周年の流れを踏襲した低音とギターの強いリマスターです。特にレコードやハイレゾで聞くと良さが際立つと思います。このシリーズはモノバージョンのステレオ化という側面も持っているので、ちょいちょい聞き慣れない音が入っていたりするんですが、そこは良し悪しだと思います。出来ればステレオバージョンのリマスターの方が良かったかなぁ。でも音に関しては十分です。゜
