　よく知らずに購入したアルバムですが、ブルースアルバム１枚で、ジャズでも時折、演奏される「Ｓｔ．Ｊａｍｅｓ　ｉｎｆｉｒｍａｒｙ（セント・ジェームス病院）」が好きです。アルバム１枚、通して聞けます。アルバムジャケットの存在感は力を持ったものだと思います。

本盤は、1956〜1960年のデューク録音集で、1961年発売のLPに2曲のボーナストラックを追加してリイシューしたものです。ボビーを聴くなら、なんといっても黄金のデューク期からだと思います。でも、いきなりコンプリート集とかはしんどいなという方には収録曲14曲の中にも「Cry, Cry,Cry」「I Pity the Fool」といった歴史的名唄が聴ける本盤をボビー体験の最初の1枚としてお勧めしたいです。ちなみに僕は本収録曲の中では少し甘めのバラードですが、スヌークス・イグリーンがカバーした「I’m Not Ashamed」がお気に入りです。
