2009 release from Paddy McAloon and Prefab Sprout. Let's Change This World With Music is being called both a 'new' album and a return to a project that the band had originally started working on in the early '90s but eventually abandoned. Either way, the album marks the long-awaited return of singer/songwriter McAloon and his mates, who last released an album in 2001. McAloon is regularly hailed one of the greatest songwriters of his era, often compared to Elvis Costello, Paul McCartney and Cole Porter. Let's Change the World With Music is the first Prefab Sprout album in eight years and contains 12 unique tracks. Features the first single 'Let There Be Music'. Sony/BMG.

待ちに待ったアルバムです！実質一人で作ったアルバムのようですが、彼の才能はまったく枯れませんね。ボーカルも初期の頃とほとんど変わらないように聴こえます。前作はアルバムデザインから若干土臭い曲もあったけれど、このアルバムはドリーミーで優しく美しい曲ばかり。またまたパディの世界に魅せられました。

病気の中これだけの物を仕上げたのは偉い。声が若々しいのが印象的。Voも17年前にいれといたのだろうか。これで世界が変わるとは思えないが、これまで世界を変えた、良くしたアーティスト等私の知る限りいないので音楽がよければそれでいいです。歌詞は屈託のないラヴソングの様で深読みも出来る感じでさすが。Paddyの病気が治ることを祈りつつ他のアルバム共々併聴してます。

素晴らしい料理をﾎｰﾑｾﾝﾀｰで売ってる安い食器で出された感じ？それに甘くﾄﾞﾘｰﾐｨなだけではなく、初期二作品の頃にあったﾈｲｷｯﾄﾞな痛々しさも期待していたのだが...如何せん待望感が大き過ぎた分、諸手を挙げて快哉を叫ぶ訳には...というのが大方の人達の本音ではなかろうか。世のﾌﾟﾘﾌｧﾌﾞ依存症患者の禁断症状を完全に解くには至らずといったところか。でもやはりﾒﾛﾃﾞｨは素晴らしい
