2000年にリリースされた XTC 通算12作目のスタジオアルバム『Wasp Star: Apple Venus Volume ２』が APEレーベルから再登場。本作は、前年リリースのアコースティック作品『Apple Venus Volume １』と対になる、アンディ・パートリッジいわく「『Black Sea』をソフトにした感じ」のエレクトリックバンドスタイルでアレンジされた楽曲をまとめた ”20世紀XTC” の傑作。

らしさ全開の王道ポップナンバー「Stupidly Happy」、アンディらしい皮肉が利いた「We're All Light」、コリン・モールディング独特の柔らかなメロディの「Standing In For Joe」など、まさしく『Black Sea』や『English Settlements』をはじめ、あまねくXTC作品に心酔してきたファンの溜飲を下げた１枚。

本商品は、2015年発売の再発盤 (APECD115) と同内容となります。
