0 people agree with this review

A notorious recording, and very seldom heard. Souliotis is in good voice here, better than del Monaco, while Cossotto outsings both of them. The score is heavily cut (Oroveso is almost completely excised) and slightly rearranged, while Varviso takes an exciting verismo approach. Not for purists, but wonderfully entertaining. Track and cast listings are in roman characters.0 people agree with this review

This 1967 recording, manufactured by the Japanese Decca branch and available in Japan only, is a true CD rarity. It comes in a slim CD package with the front cover very much in the Decca Grand Opera style (with the original LP cover photo of Suliotis), even though it does not formally belong to the Grand Opera line (mid-price). The modest booklet is entirely in Japanese, the track list in Japanese/Italian. As I am able to decipher, the Japanese text in the booklet consists of some very brief liner notes,0 people agree with this review
