Carl Orff
Carmina Burana
Mikhail Glinka
Overture - Ruslan & Ludmilla
The Budapest Philharmonic Orchestra
Rico Saccani, conductor
Carl Orff's perennial favourite Carmina Burana is a colourful and eclectic setting of religious, love, drinking and comedy songs discovered at the monastery of Benediktbueren in 1803. Glinka's fast and furious overture to Ruslan & Ludmilla is one of the great orchestral showpieces.
