ﾎｰﾝを大胆に導入しﾌｧﾝｸ､ﾗﾃﾝ､ｶﾘﾌﾟｿなど幅広い音楽性を展開させた6作目。全英No.1の「悪意という名の街」はたしかに名曲だが私は労働者階級挽歌ともいうべき「5時のﾋｰﾛｰ」を推したい。

カーネーションはOASISがライブでよくやってましたね、原曲の方はテンポがゆっくりで落ち着いた感じでちょっと驚きました、でも間違いなく名曲ですね。All Mod ConsでJAMサウンドが確立され、以降ファンキーな音へとシフトしていくんですが、これはほとんどスタイル・カウンシルを見据えた作品、でもいい曲が多いし、見逃せない傑作ですね。
