あこがれのギタリストだったジム・ホールと共演したパット・メセニーとの二人のギタリストの連名アルバム。 ジムとパットに共通するハーモニー感覚が素晴らしく、両者のオリジナルとスタンダード曲を二人で演奏しているのに、まるで一人が多重録音をしているみたいな勘違いをしてしまう。 同じくギタリスト二人でも、「ジョン・スコフィールド＆パット・メセニー」とは違う魅力あり、穏やかな気持ちになる、深夜の部屋にいるような静かなアルバム

このアルバム、二人で録音した後にパットが自分の演奏が気に入らなくて自分の部分だけ取り直したという話があります。それを聞いたJim　Hallは激怒したとか・・・・・そう思いながら聞くのも一興かと。確かに一発取りにしては良くできています。

ＨＭＶで予約をしてから、何度も入荷予定日が変わっただけに、ようやく手にした時は感慨深いものがありました。再発盤はジャケットが秀逸で（オリジナルも文字だけでシンプルにカッコ良かったですが）、もちろん演奏は文句無しに素晴らしいです。メセニーが嬉々としてホールとの演奏を楽しんでいる雰囲気が出ていて微笑ましく、寛いで聴くことができますよ。
