ビル・ブルーフォード 『Gradually Going Tornado / The Bruford Tapes』『Live at The Venue / 4th Album Rehearsal Sessions』カップリング盤2タイトル再発

イエス、キング・クリムゾン、UKを渡り歩いた名ドラマー、ビル・ブルーフォード（ビル・ブラッフォード）のリーダーグループ「ブルーフォード」の80年作『Gradually Going Tornado』と79年ライヴ『The Bruford Tapes』の2CDカップリング盤、および80年NYライヴ『Live at The Venue』と幻に終わった4thアルバムのスタジオリハーサル音源『4th Album Rehearsal Sessions』の2CDカップリング盤がデジスリーヴ仕様で登場。

いずれも、2017年に2,000セット完全数量限定でリリースされた6CD＋2DVDオーディオからなるボックスセット『Seems Like A Lifetime Ago』に格納された同盤の単体リリースとなる。

Gradually Going Tornado / The Bruford Tapes（2CD）

CD1には、ブルーフォード名義による1980年発表の最終作『Gradually Going Tornado』を収録。ジェフ・バーリンによるヴォーカル曲や、アマンダ・パーソンズ、バーバラ・ガスキン参加のスタイリッシュな曲も交え、ブルーフォードの才能が単にドラムのプレイだけにとどまらずコンポーズやプロデュースなど多岐に渡ることを証明した意欲作。

CD2には、79年7月12日NYマイ・ファーザーズ・プレイスでのライヴ盤『The Bruford Tapes』を収録。デイヴ・スチュワート (key)、ジェフ・バーリン (ds)、ブルーフォードに加え、無名ギタリストのジョン・クラークによる前任アラン・ホールズワース張りの超絶技巧プレイにファンが驚愕した1枚。

Live At The Venue / 4th Album Rehearsal Sessions（2CD）

CD1には、オフィシャルでは未発表だった80年5月5日ロンドン・ヴェニュー公演を収めた『Live At The Venue』を、CD2には、幻に終わった4thアルバム用の80年スタジオリハーサル音源を収録。いずれも音質的に良好とは言い難いものだが、それでもリハにおけるビルとデイヴ・スチュワートのセッション〜コミュニケーションは、コアファンにはたまらない生々しさが漂っている。
