ヴァレンティーナ・レフコ名唱集（１１ＣＤ）

ロシア系音源に力を入れていたブリリアントが久々の労作をリリース。内容は、ロシア／ソ連を代表するメゾ・ソプラノ歌手ヴァレンティナ・レフコの11枚組ボックスというマニアックなもの。

【レフコ】
レフコは1926年生まれで、80年代の終わりまで歌っていましたが、CDは数が少なく、コンドラシンのマーラー交響曲第3番のほか、エルムレルの『スペードの女王』、カバレフスキーのレクィエムのほかはライヴ盤などがあったくらいなので、スカラ座やウィーン国立歌劇場など西欧でも活躍していた名歌手としては、寂しいものがあったため、今回のリリースは嬉しい限り。
　レフコはグネーシン音楽アカデミーとモスクワ音楽院でヴァイオリン、ヴィオラを学び、後に声楽に転向、マリア・マクサコワらに師事しました。モスクワ・アカデミーの劇場でキャリアをスタートし、やがてモスクワで開かれたコンクールで勝利を収めるとボリション劇場出演の機会を得、優れた歌唱と演技力で注目を集めるようになり、以後、ボリショイ劇場のスター歌手として名声を博します。
　ソ連政府から人民芸術家の称号を与えられたレフコは、一方で西側でも活躍、当時のロシア人歌手としては異例の洗練された歌唱スタイルと深みのある美しい声により高い評価を獲得していきました。
　その実績を称え、「ヴァレンティーナ・レフコ記念全ロシア声楽家コンクール」が開催されるなど、レフコの名声には大きなものがあったようです。

【セットの内容】
レフコのレパートリーは幅広いものでしたが、当セットでも選曲は多岐に渡り、バッハ『マタイ受難曲』『ロ短調ミサ』『クリスマス・オラトリオ』、ヘンデル『リナルド』『セルセ』『デッティンゲン・テ・デウム』、パーセル『ディドーとエネアス』といったバロックから、シューベルトの『アヴェ・マリア』『魔王』『ます』といった歌曲、サン＝サーンスの『サムソンとダリラ』、ヴェルディの『トロヴァトーレ』といったオペラのほか、得意だったロシア・オペラやロシア歌曲・民謡などが収録されています。
　録音期間は1961年〜1987年で、ステレオ、モノラルさまざまですが古い音源の割には聴きやすい水準にあり、強靱な美声による個性的な歌唱を楽しむことができます。（ＨＭＶ）
